This policy lists every cookie Paralelo uses and how to change your choices. The table below is generated from the same list the app uses, so it always matches what the site actually does.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others remember choices you make. Besides cookies, Paralelo uses one entry in your browser's local storage, for words you save while signed out (listed below). We use no tracking pixels.
Our approach
- We use no advertising and no analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers.
- Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because sign-in, security and your language choice depend on them. Sign-in is provided by Clerk, whose cookies are set only on the log-in, sign-up and app pages.
- Preferences cookies are set only after you agree. Until then, your theme follows your device's light or dark setting.
- When you save a word or pick a color mode while signed out, it is kept in your browser's storage because you asked for it. It never leaves your device until you sign up or sign in, when it moves into your account.

Changing your choices
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of every page to change your choices at any time. When you turn a category off we delete its cookies straight away. Your choice is remembered for six months, and we ask again when this policy changes.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies you won't be able to sign in.
Privacy signals
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat it as a "no" to analytics and marketing cookies, which we don't use today anyway. The signal is recorded with your choice.
